About Advance Outdoor

Shelter That Earns the Space It Takes Up

Advance Outdoor builds portable outdoor structures for people who ran out of garage a long time ago. The range starts with the 10×20 carport — a steel frame with an adjustable 9.5 to 11 ft peak and a waterproof top — and extends to car canopies, walk-in storage shelters, dome shelters and bike sheds.

Everything is designed to be put up by two people in an afternoon. Poles arrive numbered, the fittings are pre-drilled, and the printed instruction sheet walks through frame, cover and anchoring in the order they actually happen. No concrete, no permit for most residential setups, no specialist tools.

The structures are meant to be lived with, not replaced. That is why replacement canopy tops, leg cloths and frame fittings are stocked for the common sizes: when a cover finally gives out after a few hard winters, the frame you already anchored stays exactly where it is.

Why Owners Choose Advance Outdoor

Three things that decide whether an outdoor shelter is still standing in year three.

A Frame Built to Stay Anchored

Powder-coated steel tubing, reinforced corner joints and long ground stakes. Anchored properly on level ground, an Advance Outdoor carport takes wind and snow load the way a temporary pop-up cannot.

Covers That Breathe and Shed Water

Triple-layer PE tops with UV inhibitors, welded seams and roll-up vent windows on several models — so condensation leaves instead of dripping onto whatever you parked underneath.

Parts You Can Still Buy Later

Replacement canopy tops, leg cloths, stakes and fittings for the popular frame sizes. A worn cover is a spare part here, not the end of the shelter.

One Place for the Shelter, the Cover and the Spare Parts

Most people arrive here for one of three reasons: they are choosing a first 10×20 carport, they have lost the instructions for the one they own, or their canopy top has finally worn through and they need the replacement that fits. All three are answered on this site — every category page carries assembly notes, the peak-height and footprint numbers, and a link to the covers and parts for that frame.

Beyond the Advance Outdoor range you will also find two partner lines we use ourselves: Quictent for pop-up canopies, party tents, greenhouses and raised garden beds, and Eurmax for commercial-grade pop-ups, replacement tops and the weight bags that hold them down on a windy market day.

Advance Outdoor — Frequently Asked Questions

What does Advance Outdoor make?

Portable outdoor shelters: heavy-duty carports (the 10×20 is the best known, alongside 10×15, 12×20 and 20×20 two-car sizes), adjustable car canopies, walk-in and dome storage shelters, vent storage tents, and lockable bike and motorcycle sheds. Replacement canopy tops, leg cloths and frame parts are available for the popular sizes.

Where do I find the Advance Outdoor 10×20 carport instructions?

A printed instruction sheet ships inside the frame carton, and the same sheet is available as a PDF from the product listing — open the listing for your model and look under the product documents section, where the manual is filed by model number. The order is always the same: lay out and number the poles, build the two long roof trusses flat on the ground, raise them onto the legs, then fit the cover last and tension it evenly before staking. Our Carport 10×20 page walks through the same steps in writing.

Can I buy Advance Outdoor carport replacement parts?

Yes. The parts that wear are the ones that are stocked: replacement top covers and leg cloths for the 10×20 and other common frames, ground stakes, ratchet straps and the ball-bungee ties that hold the cover to the tubing. Match the part to your frame’s footprint and peak height rather than to the year you bought it — the frames are dimensionally stable across production runs, so a current 10×20 cover fits an older 10×20 frame.

How long does assembly take, and how many people?

Two people, roughly two to four hours for a 10×20 depending on ground conditions. The frame goes together with hand tools only. The part worth slowing down for is anchoring: stake every leg, keep the frame square, and tension the cover in stages rather than pulling one corner tight first.

Will it stand up to wind and snow?

Anchored correctly on level ground, yes — these are steel-framed structures, not pop-up gazebos. Use every stake supplied, add auger anchors on soft ground, and in heavy-snow regions clear the roof rather than letting load build up. In storm conditions the safest move with any fabric-topped shelter is to loosen and drop the cover so the wind has nothing to lift.

What is the difference between a bike shed and a storage shelter?

Size and door. A bike shed is a compact 6×6 to 8×14 ft unit with a zip or roll-up door, sized for one motorcycle or several bicycles and usually placed against a wall. A storage shelter is a walk-in structure for mowers, tools, firewood and off-season garden kit, with standing headroom and a wider opening. Both use the same steel-frame and waterproof-cover construction as the carports.
